Love Train

Love is a train ride for fools

Rose-colored wool covers their eye’s

Paying attention to only how it begins

Never minding the end

Wreckage filled with sad goodbyes

Only the wounded and the wise know it is a ride worth the pain to ride again and again

A fly away day dreamer happily grounded by a child on each foot and a wonderful husband who always has my back. So I write my daydreams for now until our children develop wings of their own.

  1. Love is a castle of paper walls
A boat on the river approaching the falls
We wait for the fire, we wait for the end
We know it is fragile and yet we pretend
That the walls stand forever and the river goes on
But the structure is crumbling and the boat that we’re on
Has arrived at the rapids and soon will capsize
One last tender moment, one more look in your eyes
Love’s an illusion, a trick of the night
We’re losing each other in love’s fading light
But love is a moment we cannot regret
Love is a gift. Lest we forget.
