Ebony Waters

The light of the night reveals her reflection in the cool calm pools.

Stepping ever descending into her possible ending.

For years silent tears ripple her reflection.

Water rises up her thighs

No one hears her cries

Water rises up her hips

So many never hear the whispers from her lips.

Water rises up her chest she hides locked away her very best.

Still, she steps down into the darkness of the night of which for years she did so hard to fight.

As the water rises above her eyes she wonders if she is still strong to hold on for the dawn.
